Fusepoint Managed Services, a provider of outsourced IT services and infrastructure, today announced it has acquired the business of Versus, a privately-held Montreal-based information technology company specializing in advanced managed hosting and IT application services.
"Versus has emerged as the recognized leader in applications management and outsourcing services in Quebec, and this strategic acquisition brings a highly complementary portfolio of IT solutions and expanded service capabilities such as application management and in-depth Microsoft experience to Fusepoint," said Robert Offley, president and CEO of Fusepoint Managed Services. "By increasing our presence in one of Canada's largest markets, we're better positioned as the only independent Managed IT Services provider with a true national presence."
Versus will become a Fusepoint company, with its operations remaining in Montreal and Quebec City. Current President and CEO Christine Beaubien, Chief Technology Officer Michel Plante and Jean-Yves St-Arnaud, Vice President will remain with the company and join Fusepoint's Executive Management Team.
"After nearly a decade of delivering measurable business results to our customers within the province of Quebec, the Versus team feels the time has come to explore the tremendous opportunities in the rest of Canada. Joining forces with Fusepoint will give us an overnight national presence that will allow us to achieve our business goals more rapidly and build on Fusepoint's already strong position in Ontario and the rest of Canada." said Christine Beaubien, president and CEO of Versus. "Versus has a history of tremendous growth, a wealth of in-house talent, and a portfolio of innovative outsourcing solutions. Together with Fusepoint, we'll offer customers expanded IT services and even better customer service – all at a national level."
"This is a win-win scenario for everyone, especially for our customers," Offley continued. "This acquisition is a logical next step for Fusepoint since securing our second round of financing, which was provided by M/C Venture Partners, our lead investor. We said that we plan to grow our business both organically and through strategic acquisitions, and this announcement delivers on that promise. We are fortunate to have Christine Beaubien, Michel Plante and Jean-Yves St-Arnaud's experience and excellent track record to help shape the future of the company as we move forward."
With a total workforce of 125, the combined company will have offices and data centres in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal, and Quebec City. Terms of the sale are not being disclosed. "
