James_Berg writes "Two months after the launch of Web Design Library finds Template Monster
ranking among the leaders in Web Design resources.
Brooklyn, N.Y., December 9, 2004 - TemplateMonster.com, a
top global provider of website design templates, turned a new leaf in autumn
of 2004, with the launch of their Web Design Library project. Slated to be a
one-stop web design resource, the project began with no fewer than 2,000 unique
materials, including articles from renowned gurus like Jakob Nielsen. Since
that time, the number of daily visitors has exceeded 7000.
Not surprisingly, with this kind of exposure, the number of new materials being
submitted by designers has likewise grown, thanks mainly to the high interest.
Now Template Monster can proudly state that they are no longer merely a provider
of web design templates; they are also a full fledged Web Design resource.
Indeed, plans for creating a one-stop web design resource seem to be coming
to fruition. George Hogan, Library editor, notes, "A dream grew into a
Web design project that hundreds of people participated in, and then became
a worldwide environment where thousands of people now engage each other in intelligent
discourse. Look at the numbers; numbers are telling, and they tell me that we’re
doing the right thing. 700 new materials for that time and 1.000.000 visitors.
Though it’s true that we are still struggling to get our forum going,
I think we can call this project a genuine whiz-bang success. There will always
be areas that need improvement. Right now, for example, we’re working on
the stimulating the forum and adding new interviews."
During the first two months of its existence WDL managed to gain nine exclusive
interviews. Among the interviewees were such web design gurus like Vincent
Flanders from WebPagesThatSucks.com a constant opponent of Jakob Neilsen
on usability issues and Joe
Gillespie whose site WPDfD.com confidently holds #1 position at Google with
“Web Design” as keyword for several years already.
Besides, the WDL team has added much to its interactivity by improving its
“Site of the Month” section. Now you are able not only to view an
impressive collection of websites, but also to read a review on Site of the
Month, a feat which was accomplished with one of the top specialists at Template
Monster.
On that stage, the staff at Web Design Library would like to encourage all
visitors to check out the forum and leave some visible traces of their visit
behind them. George Hogan adds, “Perhaps you've never before set foot in
a forum or perhaps you spend far too much time there already; whatever your
forum experience is, WDL forum will help you make the most of it.”
