News: Fusepoint acquires Web Hosting provider Worldwide Online
Fusepoint Managed Services, a leading provider of
outsourced IT services and infrastructure, today announced that it has
acquired Toronto-based Worldwide Online, a hosting and professional
services firm. The deal is the latest in a series of national expansion
moves made by Fusepoint that began last fall with the acquisition of
Montreal-based Versus and continues with the signing of many new
customers across Canada.
Worldwide Online specializes in managed IT services, along with
application and email management. The acquisition includes all
Worldwide Online employees and the addition of one of their major
customers, the Toronto Real Estate Board, an organization with 107
staff and over 21,000 members.
"I am pleased to welcome Worldwide Online to the Fusepoint family,"
said Robert Offley, president and CEO of Fusepoint Managed Services.
"Worldwide Online has impressive expertise and an enviable set of
customers. Their work for the Toronto Real Estate Board is an excellent
example of the quality and breadth of the managed services Worldwide
Online offers. From hosting TREB’s data and managing their hardware and
wide-area network to overseeing their applications and planning for
business continuity, Worldwide Online has become an invaluable partner
to one of the largest real estate boards in North America."
"The entire Worldwide Online team is excited about joining Fusepoint,"
said Romeo Colacitti, president of Worldwide Online, who has joined
Fusepoint as director of sales. "After 10 years as a successful
independent service provider, it was time for us to branch out and
seize opportunities that only a company of Fusepoint’s caliber could
offer us. We’ve already discovered many synergies between our two
organizations, and look forward to a very promising future together."
As demand for Fusepoint’s managed IT services continues to accelerate,
the company has achieved considerable success in recent months.
Fusepoint is also pleased to announce a string of new customers across
the country including Direct Energy, Maple Leaf Foods, Fuji Film in
Toronto; Transat AT Inc. in Montreal; and FORREX in Vancouver.
As a BC-based not-for-profit dedicated to helping people develop
science and knowledge-based solutions for complex natural resource
challenges, FORREX Research Extension Partnership (FORREX) depends on
sharing knowledge and research electronically. It now uses Fusepoint as
an extended IT department, protecting its data from online security
threats and guaranteeing its continued availability. Fusepoint is proud
to be associated with this important organization.
"It has been a very exciting few months, with so many new customers,
new members of the team and new services to offer our customers," said
Offley. "The people from Worldwide Online are valuable additions to our
organization since their experience and skills mesh well with our core
strengths. The synergies we anticipated in joining forces with
Montreal-based Versus late last year and now with Worldwide Online are
already coming to fruition and our clients have been quick to embrace
the new services we now have to offer."
