(The Hosting News) – A deal has been worked out between hosting provider Savvis and broadband supplier Virgin Media Business that will provide the United Kingdom with Saavis-powered cloud services, the company announced Wednesday.
Most specifically, it will enable Virgin Media Business customers to use Savvis Symphony VPDC, the company’s virtual data center solution.
Elaborating on the decision to go with Saavis, Virgin Media Business managing director Mark Heraghty pointed to Savvis as “the right choice to deliver the capabilities and support that our customers need.”
Savvis provides a partnership program for companies. Such partners include the likes of Cisco, Cognizant, and more.
Commenting on the matter in a press release, Savvis EMEA managing director Neil Cresswell stated, “We are truly delighted that Virgin Media Business chose Savvis’ enterprise-class solutions for its client base.”
“We are excited to extend our reach to new markets with Virgin Media Business. Our joint success will hopefully allow Savvis to establish similar long-term partnerships in Europe,” he went on to say.
According to the press release, Virgin Media Business hosts 35% of the country’s broadband pertaining to business.
Savvis is a provider of services including cloud, hosting, colocation, security, and more. Earlier this year, telecommunications company CenturyLink acquired the provider. To view a press release on the matter, visit: http://news.centurylink.com/index.php?s=43&item=2858
