(The Hosting News) – There’s news coming from TechCrunch’s Disrupt conference currently being held in San Francisco, California, and it involves cloud security. During the event, Dome9, a cloud security provider, announced a new SaaS that provides automated security solutions for cloud hosts and different cloud enterprises (such as public, private, and VPS).
The company says its new service offers “new capabilities,” along with two new service plans. Before the announcement by Dome9, the service was available in beta. According to tech site GigaOM, it marks the first product by the company.
Specifics on the service include quick deployment, affordability, and the ability to “leverage” existing security on servers.
In a press release on the matter, Dome9 CEO Zohar Alon emphasized how security must be “elastic” when it concerns cloud computing.
Meanwhile, Neil MacDonald of Gartner Research stated, “Whether virtualizing their data centers or moving to private and public cloud computing architectures, enterprises should look to automate and reduce the complexity of their security infrastructure, either from solutions they deploy or require to be provided by their cloud services providers.”
“Next-generation security solutions need to be elastic and scalable, just like the cloud, and able to deploy consistent policies across physical and virtualized servers, as well across on-premises based workloads and the public cloud,” he continued.
Currently, Dome9 is demonstrating the service at the convention. Held from September twelfth through fourteenth, TechCrunch’s Disrupt conference focuses on tech issues including app development. For more information on Tech Crunch Distrupt 2011: http://disrupt.techcrunch.com/SF2011/
