(The Hosting News) – Demand is on the rise for Interxion. Citing the issue, the colocation provider announced on Tuesday that it would be expanding its presence in Amsterdam by adding four thousand square meters of “equipped space.”
Interxion is already familiar with Amsterdam. In fact, the newly announced facility will be the company’s sixth in the area.
Discussing the matter in a company press release, Interxion CEO David Ruberg stated, “We are seeing significant demand in Amsterdam for carrier neutral colocation space, particularly among cloud service providers and digital media providers.”
“By continuing to expand in this key market, we are demonstrating our commitment to support our customers’ current and future growth plans,” Ruberg went on to say.
Aside from more space, the latest facility will also feature something even more vital: Power. Interxion says ten megawatts will be provided for.
The colocation provider also plans to “minimize the data centre’s carbon footprint.” To do this, the facility will rely on its “environmentally friendly” design.
Just recently, Interxion also announced its third quarter results for this year which signaled increased revenue and demand.
As a provider of colocation, Interxion has other data centers located throughout Europe, including ones in London, Madrid, Paris, and Stockholm. Specifics of Interxion’s colocation services include systems management, monitoring, and data backup. For more information on Interxion’s latest announcement, visit here (Interxion.com).
