(The Hosting News) – Data center provider CyrusOne on Thursday announced that it’d construct its second data center in the San Antonio, Texas area – a facility expected to encompass more than 200 thousand square feet of space.
Discussing the matter via a press release, CyrusOne CTRO Kevin Timmons cited the “demand for colocation space” around San Antonio.
“We anticipate breaking ground in the fourth quarter of 2013 and plan to use our innovative Massively Modular™ facility engineering approach to achieve construction and asset utilization efficiencies and enable a speedy commissioning of the site,” Kevin Timmons went on to say.
Building the project is Corgan, a Texas-based architecture company.
Overall, CyrusOne operates 25 data centers worldwide in other locations including Austin, Chicago, Cincinnati, Houston and the United Kingdom.
