(The Hosting News) – DataSite and TSS, Inc., today announced the completion of a significant upgrade to the DataSite Orlando facility. DataSite, an owner and operator of mission-critical facilities in Orlando, Fla., Atlanta, Ga., and Boise, ID, initiated the upgrades to deliver additional power and cooling capacity in their central Florida facility. TSS, a mission critical data center and technology services company, was selected by DataSite for project design, construction management and field delivery.
DataSite Orlando provides wholesale and retail level colocation space for both medium and high power density computing environments. The property delivers an industry leading array of highly desired features for a Tier III level, world class data center, consisting of a single story free standing Category 5 hurricane rated 130,000 square foot facility located 60 miles inland outside the 500-Year floodplain. The facility has 85,000 square feet of 36 inch high raised floor, boasts a windowless exterior with 8 inch thick steel reinforced concrete walls built from the underground up and highly resilient against man-made or natural disasters. Power is delivered from two separate utility substations through two compartmentalized and isolated infrastructure rooms.
The recently completed electrical and mechanical system upgrades include:
- New UPS system delivering a total capacity of 6.25MW
- Standby power plant of 13.4 MW, and utility service capacity of 12MW
- 2N electrical support infrastructure for maximum redundancy
- New air cooled chiller plant with total system cooling capacity of 2,300 tons
- A/B header system providing 2N system level redundancy
