(The Hosting News) – Computer maker Dell on Monday further expanded its cloud portfolio, announcing that it had acquired cloud-management company Enstratius for an undisclosed amount.
Enstratius’s solutions include application management in cloud areas such as hybrid, public and private.
“As enterprises increase their use of public, private and hybrid clouds, the need for controls, security, governance and automation becomes more critical,” stated Tom Kendra of Dell’s software unit via a press release.
Kendra also focused on how the companies would operation together, remarking, “Dell, together with Enstratius, is uniquely positioned to deliver differentiated, complete cloud-management solutions to enterprise customers, large and small, empowering them with the efficiency and flexibility in the allocation and use of resources.”
If you’re wondering if Enstratius is the same company as Enstratus, the answer is yes as a name change was initiated in March.
In recent years, Dell has kept busy expanding its cloud offerings. In April of last year, Dell pulled off a similar move, adding Wyse as a subsidiary.
