(The Hosting News) – Top data center solutions provider Digital Realty Trust made a major play on Tuesday by announcing its $1.1 billion acquisition of three individual properties located around London, England.
Known as the Sentrum Portfolio, the properties account for hosting space that’s already 80% leased, according to Digital Realty Trust Chief Acquisitions Officer Scott Peterson.
The space itself spread throughout the three facilities accounts for 761 thousand square feet. Meanwhile, the acquisition has yet to be finalized and could conclude sometime next month.
“We believe the addition of these high quality, mission critical facilities to our operating portfolio will enable us to serve a wide variety of customers seeking institutional quality data center space in London, a highly strategic global data center market,” commented Digital Realty Trust CEO Michael F. Foust in a company press release regarding the matter.
Digital Realty trust has been notable for many high-profile colocation and hosting acquisitions. Just earlier this month, the company unveiled its acquisition of a 269 square foot facility in Dallas, Texas. The company’s facilities provide for features such as colocation along with cloud and SaaS applications.
