New York natives DigitalOcean, an Infrastructure-as-a-Service provider, has built a reputation in the world of Cloud has a cloud infrastructure service for developers and in fact has caused them to grow fast.
With the Cloud being a huge evolution over the last several years due to a few big names in the industry, it’s hard to be a small provider competing against that. Despite the big guys’ amazing features and low price points for consumers, DigitalOcean has been able to grow, raise funds, and expand well.
In fact the two data centers that they started with have expanded to 11 in just three years of existence. They’ve felt the pressure from players like Amazon and Microsoft to expand their footprint for additional capacity and adding new ones.
While the biggest footprint remains in New York, they now have data centers in locations including San Francisco, London, and Singapore.
