(The Hosting News) – The Planet, the global hosting leader, today announced that Dynapp, Inc.® (http://www.dynapp.com) has adopted the company’s new Server Cloud as an added service for its existing hosting platform. Headquartered in Macon, Ga., Dynapp provides a broad array of applications and services for websites and web-based businesses, all built on its proprietary content management system. Additional Dynapp services include development of e-commerce systems, e-mail newsletters and other web-related requirements.
The Dynapp framework eliminates the complexities associated with website development and management by offering “plain English” directions for its users. The company also provides hosting solutions for its clients who opt to have Dynapp manage their websites with around-the-clock support.
“Our clients count on us for unequivocal service and reliability,” said Dynapp Chief Technology Officer Wes Byrd. “We’ve had a number of questions from clients about cloud solutions, so we carefully evaluated a number that we felt were possibilities. Hands-down The Planet provided the best solution for our business. The fact that bandwidth is included with each virtual server, accompanied by predictable pricing with no surprises, provides us with assurances that our clients will find this to be a good product for their specific requirements.”
“We expressly designed Server Cloud to meet the requirements clearly articulated by our customers,” said Tom Blair, vice president of Global Sales for The Planet. “Customers rely on us for high availability, seamless scalability and generous bandwidth, which they’ll find in our new Server Cloud. There’s already been tremendous interest in this new offering, as an important and attractive option to add to their existing hosting capabilities, because of the significant value it provides.”
Wes Byrd has plied his IT and graphic design experience with some of the most well-known brands in the nation, from IBM to ADP, AT&T, DHL, Cracker Barrel and AutoTrader.com, to name just a few. As a consultant to many, he learned early on the importance of developing technology solutions that provide value and meet customers’ specific business objectives. It’s a skill and a mindset that come naturally to Byrd.
“I started my career as a graphic designer, and it became evident early on that technology was going to be a game-changer in my industry,” says Byrd. “I started working with the technologies that were available, as well as the emerging web opportunities, and knew we were on the cusp of something big.”
Through his years of providing contract services, Byrd developed his own proprietary, easy-to-use content management system that’s now operating in its sixth iteration.
“Having worked in the business, I knew that giving customers easy-to-use tools to meet their specific requirements – without the typical hassles often found with IT solutions – would be a tremendous benefit for their companies. Our first client still uses the system we implemented for them, which we’re proud of.”
Over the years, Byrd also began to get requests from customers about managing their websites. Understanding how critical it is for companies to have around-the-clock website operations, he knew that adding hosting capabilities was a natural progression for his growing business.
“We have a broad range of clients from vastly different industries, from worldwide franchising outfits, shopping cart systems, national shoe-store chains, colleges, universities, commercial and residential real estate firms, and non-profits,” says Byrd. “These companies have highly differentiated requirements, so we evaluated virtually every hosting option in the business. The Planet was the clear winner based on the quality of the service and the bandwidth options we required,” he notes. “The decision was an easy one.”
In the past six months, Byrd has received requests about cloud options from his customers, whose interests were generated from industry news stories. He became an early beta participant – and ultimately an early adopter – for The Planet Server Cloud, again with the same criteria setting his requirements agenda.
“We looked at a number of cloud options, and most didn’t offer bandwidth,” says Byrd. “Particularly in today’s economic environment, our customers don’t want surprises, and The Planet clearly understands that. We’re able to offer the Server Cloud, knowing our clients will be pleased with performance and the price tag.
“I had one client who was using a shared hosting solution, and they had grown beyond that. They were eating up a lot of resources and needed a dedicated machine, but it was really more than they needed. With The Planet Server Cloud, we’re able to provide them with a hosting environment that’s scalable now and into the future with no performance or price surprises.”
