(The Hosting News) – Concerning its LD5 center in London, data center service provider Equinix announced that it has begun working on the second phase of the facility’s construction.
The new addition will expand the facility by four thousand square meters. The first phase of LD5 was completed in April of last year.
Founded in 1998, Equinix has many data centers worldwide and serves 650 network providers along with over three thousand enterprises. Services provided by the company include cloud, colocation, and more.
Making the announcement on Monday, Equinix Managing Director Russell Poole stated, “London is one of the largest and fastest growing data center markets in the world and the opening of LD5’s second phase underlines our commitment to support our customers’ growth.
“We have been focusing our efforts on providing a global platform to meet the demand for colocation and network exchange services from the whole market. At the moment, this growth in demand is particularly strong from financial services firms and cloud service providers,” he continued.
