(The Hosting News) – Companies in the service provider industry along with entities in corporate IT are the focus of a new cloud solution following a partnership of cloud management provider RightScale and data center company Equinix.
Announced on Tuesday, the plan allows companies to consolidate management for a variety of clouds through one platform. Cloud solutions provided for include hybrid, public and private solutions.
Discussing the matter in a press release, RightScale senior VP of business development John Fraser talked about what made the offering unique as compared to those provided for by other companies.
Fraser emphasized that it would let users “increase the speed and reliability of delivering comprehensive cloud environments, particularly for those organizations with high data security and compliance needs or for those looking for increased performance for specific applications.”
“Customers can literally provision entire server deployments in minutes with full-featured automation and govern them over their entire lifecycle,” commented Fraser.
One of the most primary features of the platform appears to be its compatibility to work with what the companies say is an “unprecedented choice of cloud services.” Users can then access control features through the management solution provided by RightScale.
In the press release made available by the companies, other benefits of the service were discussed. The companies said it would allow its administrators “to deploy workloads on demand to various clouds based on their requirements, ensuring optimal end-user performance, minimizing delivery costs and accelerating time-to-market for new services.”
The news follows an announcement by Equinix last week in which the colocation provider revealed that it would be partnering with Digital Realty Trust and Carpathia Hosting to construct a 64 thousand square foot data center in Dulles, Virginia. Equinix operates a range of data centers throughout countries including the United States, Canada and Brazil.
RightScale’s cloud management solutions pertain to areas including Microsoft stacks for cloud, applications for social gaming, development for clouds and testing, website scaling and more. For more information regarding the partnership, view a press release from the companies here (Equinix.com).
