The cloud business from IBM makes about $4.5 billion in revenue, which doesn’t even include the private cloud infrastructure. This is less than Amazon Web Services, but about 45% more than last year for IBM.
During the third quarter, IBM didn’t have much good news within the earnings report. However, the cloud business is growing, which was a bright spot.
IBM’s CFO Martin Schroeter stated that the company is transitioning itself and repositioning for the future. They are aiming at dominating cloud services and taking over the Big Data analytics section of the industry.
