The French Prime Minister Manual Valls has made it clear the country won’t put a ban on public Wi-Fi and Tor. This announcement came as a part of a response to the terrorist attacks from November. The prime minister also stated that France won’t force any social media providers to allow their users to be monitored, even if law enforcement requests it.
Le Monde, a French newspaper reported that the French Department of Civil Liberties and Legal Affairs wants the bans to be considered as a part of the state of emergency. The state of emergency in France will expire on February 26th.
