(The Hosting News) – GalaxyVisions and ColoGuard, New York City’s leading providers of Internet hosting and colocation solutions, today announced their support of the 2013 CarePoint Health Foundation’s 2013 Spring Gala and congratulated organizers on the successful event.
GalaxyVisions and ColoGuard were among the sponsors and contributed to the gala, which took place at the Marriott Teaneck at GlenPointe. The event raised money to continue the foundation’s mission of providing money to strengthen access to healthcare for uninsured and under-insured members of the community.
“We’re proud to be able to contribute to this important organization, which benefits the same community that we serve,” said Raymond Sidler, chief executive and co-founder of GalaxyVisions and ColoGuard. “As GalaxyVisions celebrates its 10th anniversary as a company, we feel it’s important to contribute back to the community.”
The CarePoint Health Foundation provides outreach programs related to health, wellness, prevention and education. It also focuses on mental health resources and ensuring access to important health screenings. It regularly make small capacity-based grants for the region’s health needs, including recent contributions of $5,000 in gifts and goods to Hope House in Hudson County and $25,000 to the United Way of Hudson County.
The importance of health services is familiar territory for both GalaxyVisions and ColoGuard. ColoGuard, for example, provides colocation services for several medical providers in the Tri-State area, including Bayonne Medical Center, Christ Hospital and Hoboken University Medical Center. ColoGuard’s state-of-the-art HIPPA compliant colcoation datacenter is being used to host applications, storage and serve as a highly available backup for disaster recovery plans.
Last month, GalaxyVisions and ColoGuard announced that an independent auditor certified that their shared data center is in compliance with the strict federal standards set by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). The audit, which was conducted by IS Partners LLC of Horsham, Pa., reviewed the data center’s ability to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of Electronic Protected Health Information (EPHI). Auditors reviewed how data is collected, stored, processed and transmitted to and from the facility.
“The needs of the medical community are in our DNA,” Sidler said. “We look forward to supporting the IT operations and the community outreach of health-care organizations across the New York metropolitan area.”
GalaxyVisions and ColoGuard are no strangers to charitable giving back to the community. In October, for instance, GalaxyVisions announced that it was donating 10% of total sales during the month to breast cancer awareness programs to coincide with national Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
