(The Hosting News) – Top web hosting provider Go Daddy recently placed an emphasis on services in the country of India when it announced Rajiv Sodhi as its first International Tech Executive on Wednesday.
Serving in that capacity, Sodhi will also act as the company’s Managing Director of Go Daddy India. He will operate in his role from the country capital of New Delhi.
“We knew we needed an experienced technologist, with a deep understanding of India’s culture and our Go Daddy brand of customer service,” emphasized company CEO Warren Adelman when discussing the move in a press release. Adelman went on the discuss Sodhi’s qualifications.
The web hosting industry has a particularly eventful past regarding the country. As a domain registrar, Go Daddy began offering the country’s official TLD extension (.IN) nearly three years ago. Meanwhile, rival web host Hostgator partnered with search giant Google last year to offer Indian business owners websites for free.
Sodhi held previous roles with Microsoft India before accepting the position at the top domain registrar. Go Daddy has labeled the country a “priority market.” Earlier this month, the Scottsdale, Arizona-based company unveiled its IPv6 offering for Virtual Dedicated Hosting.Choose from the most used tags
