(The Hosting News) – Another Super Bowl, another chance for top domain registrar Go Daddy to push its services to a national audience. On Thursday, the company detailed plans for ads spots to be run during America’s most watched sports event.
Go Daddy intends two run two thirty-second commercials with at least one featuring racecar driver and longtime Go Daddy girl Danica Patrick.
And while the domain registrar didn’t reveal exactly how the ads would be themed, it did note they would be somewhat different compared to years past. The company says they won’t be based on “risqué innuendo.”
You may remember during last year’s Super Bowl, Go Daddy ran a super edgy (and controversial) ad featuring supermodel Bar Refaeli making out with a geek named “Walter.”
“The Super Bowl ad strategy allows us to have fun and be edgy, and demonstrate how we help the little guy kick ass,” commented company CEO Blake Irving via a press release. “2014 marks a new era for GoDaddy Super Bowl commercials.”
Last year, Go Daddy hired ad agency Deutsch New York to produce ad spots based on a theme called “It’s Go Time” featuring martial artist Jean-Claude Van Damme. This year, Go Daddy will continue its relationship with the ad firm.
In the recent past, the web host has pushed its services for small businesses in addition to advertising .CO domains.
