(The Hosting News) – Google has introduced the launch of its new product, Chromebox for Meetings, a product designed to conveniently bring meetings together from anywhere.
Announced on Thursday, the Chromebox is equipped with everything needed to run a meeting, a Core i7-based Chromebox, high-definition camera, remote control, and a microphone/ speaker combo.
“Meetings need to catch up with the way we work—they need to be face-to-face, easier to join, and available from anywhere and any device. Starting today, they can be: Any company can upgrade their meeting rooms with a new Chromebox, built on the Chrome principles of speed, simplicity and security,” states Google via Google blog.
Up to 15 people can join the video conference from their laptops, tablets, or smartphones, as well as connecting to “traditional” video conferencing systems and phones using Vidyo and UberConference.
Companies using this product include Gilt, Evenbrite, oDest, and Woolworths.
For the first year, users will not have to pay any additional costs; after that, the cost is $250 per year.
The Chromebox for meetings is currently available in the U.S for $999, and will be arriving in Australia, Canada, France, Japan, New Zealand, Spain and the U.K. later this year.
