(The Hosting News) – Google on Wednesday unveiled a new way to see what’s trending in the form of Top Charts – part of Google Trends that lists the most searched terms in numerous categories.
“Top Charts are lists of real-world people, places and things ranked by search interest. They show information similar to our Year-End Zeitgeist, but updated monthly and going back to 2004,” explained the tech provider via its blog.
Such specific categories include actors, animals, books, cars, drinks, foods, politicians, songs and TV shows (Oh, and not to mention the kind of random category of “US governors”).
Top Charts also sheds light on how search terms have changed in ranking, how long they’ve spent in the charts along with how many pluses (+1) they’ve received.
Google, meanwhile, has added some pretty cool visual effects to the platform – something that appears to display live typing of searches as they arrive amid different colors. Check it out here (Google.com).
