(The Hosting News) – Hivelocity announced today the winner of the Customer Pics from Around the World contest and recipient of a $1000 prize. Two months ago, Hivelocity invited its customers to take a picture wearing a Hivelocity t-shirt while in front an iconic landmark their town, city, state or country was known for. Over the last two months Hivelocity has been shipping t-shirts all over the world to customers wanting to participate, and participate they did. Hivelocity received hundreds of entries and eventually ran out of shirts to ship. Contestant pictures were judged on inclusion of the Hivelocity logo, recognition of area with use of iconic landmarks and overall beauty. Two weeks ago Hivelocity announced the 36 picture finalists and put them to an online vote.
“We are so thankful to all of the customers who participated and the overwhelming number of people who placed votes for their favorite pictures these last 2 weeks. With customers in over 130 countries we knew there were going to be some fantastic opportunities for our customers to provide us with incredible shots. As it turns out, people took this contest very seriously and we were sent some absolutely beautiful pictures,” says Hivelocity General Manager Steve Eschweiler.
One winner and three runners up were chosen. The winner received $1000 and each runner up was rewarded with $250 in service credits. The top voted picture came from Chennai India where a customer submitted a picture of himself meditating in front of an ancient Buddhist temple…while wearing a Hivelocity shirt of course. The runners up came from a sky-diver in flight over Nebraska, Dubai in front of the world’s tallest building and at an Indonesian temple.
