(The Hosting News) – Robert Hoffmann, a six year veteran of 1&1, has assumed the top spot at the online provider’s hosting division.
The revelation was made Thursday and signals the departure of former executive Oliver Mauss. Mauss, however, will remain with the company as an executive member of 1&1’s Executive Board.
During his past experience at 1&1, Hoffman served in the capacity of Global Chief Sales Officer.
“I feel proud and highly energised to take the reins at 1&1’s international hosting business,” Hoffman noted in a press release.
“Our hosting solutions continue to lead the pack in many markets worldwide and deliver important impacts for business and professional users alike. I look forward to my part in building upon exciting innovations across our DIY, software-as-a-service and professional hosting segments in the coming years,” he continued.
Mauss, meanwhile, will also assume a responsibility for 1&1 Internet’s corporate venture projects and play a role at United Internet.
Among 1&1’s services are domains, hosting, e-mail, e-commerce and the highly publicized 1&1 MyWebsite, a service that allows businesses to design their own online presences.
