(The Hosting News) – On Friday, leading national colocation and cloud hosting provider InfoRelay Online Systems, Inc. announced increased peering connectivity via CoreSite’s Any2 platform. The Any2 peering platform allows InfoRelay and its clients to connect to over 50 other peers in the Western US using the new, more advanced internet protocol, IPv6.
Based in Northern Virginia, InfoRelay is an enterprise IT solutions firm that caters to small and mid-market business, enterprise clients, healthcare firms, and government entities. With 15 state-of-the-art data center facilities across the United States, InfoRelay provides multi-homed network connectivity over IPv4 and IPv6 protocols, the latter of which is said to reduce network complexity, carry more robust security features, improve data package processing and better direct data flow. InfoRelay’s global network consists of 15 upstream ISPs and bandwidth providers that ensure extremely low latency to almost anywhere in the world.
CoreSite, provider of Any2, meets the needs of its customers by providing carrier-neutral data centers, with points of presence in all major markets across the US. CoreSite currently operates the largest Internet Exchange on the West Coast of the US, known as Any2. With over 200 members, Any2 facilitates the exchange of Internet traffic between Internet service providers and content networks. Its multiple switches feature a dual-core setup for increased reliability and improved network disaster recovery configuration.
InfoRelay is expanding its connectivity solutions in unison with recently announced nationwide internal infrastructure improvements. These changes reflect InfoRelay’s growing customer base, and its pursuit for absolute reliability in network systems. These physical and network infrastructure upgrades will also provide lower latency and a larger number of network connectivity options, as demand for connectivity in the western US increases. Joe Vajda, InfoRelay’s Director of Network Operations, stated, “The purpose of expanding capacity and increasing peering through CoreSite’s Any2 platform is, ultimately, to provide our customers with the best service possible. This gives our IPv6 network access to more peers than ever, and ensures that traffic to those networks is routed in the most efficient manner possible.” While the network upgrades have already taken effect, the physical infrastructure upgrades began at the beginning of July and will continue throughout 2013 and part of 2014.
