Interview with Vince Robinson of ScalaHosting.com

Tell us a little about your background. What industry experience you have? And what did you do before your company?

I have been working in the web hosting industry for 12 years. I have strong experience managing Linux web servers. Before Scala Hosting, I was working as a senior systems administrator in some of the leading web hosting companies in the world which I don’t want to mention here for obvious reasons.

What is the History of your company and what has led to your success in the hosting industry?

Scala Hosting was founded with the idea to offer quality services. As I worked for multiple years in the web hosting industry, I noticed that more and more web hosting companies are trying to be the cheapest ones on the marked while the quality providers have decreased. This is why we decided to become a quality service provider with reasonable prices rather than the next “cheap provider”. Once the idea was clear we started looking for great people who can help Scala grow. Once the people were found, we started looking which datacenter will best fit our requirements. We were choosing which datacenter to use for almost 6 months. Scala Hosting was founded after a lot of planning which will ensure the company can provide the quality of service we want it to provide. After 3 years working in Scala Hosting, I can say that we did very good with the planning. The success of Scala Hosting is only because of the people working here and the way we treat customers.

Tell our readers about your company, your products and services.

Scala Hosting offer shared, reseller, VPS and dedicated servers hosting. We use only RAID10 based servers (from 4 to 12 hard drives per server). That means our servers stay up even if 2 drives happen to fail at the same time. All our servers are being monitored so that if a services fails we know about it within a minute and support takes actions to correct the problem. We are proactive in what we are doing and we do not wait for clients to contact us that their web site is down. If something goes wrong we know about it and fix it immediately. This is one of the main reasons why you can’t find negative reviews about us on the Internet.

We did alot in 2009. We doubled the space/bandwidth of all our plans for free and added many features for free such as free R1soft backups for the last 7 days. Each client has access to restore any of the 7 separate backups at anytime via the control panel. I think we are the only provider which offers so many backups included for free. We currently host over 15 000 domain names. All our servers are located at the SoftLayer datacenter. We have 24/7/365 technical support which can be reached via live chat and e-mail. We respond to all e-mails in less than 30 minutes while the live chat is instant.

Our predictions for the future are that Scala Hosting will continue to grow and increase its client base during 2010 by a minimum of 70%.
