(The Hosting News) – Colocation provider Interxion celebrated big news this past Thursday: The integration of its vast data center infrastructure to AWS Direct Connect.
The service is provided through Amazon’s popular Cloud Services platform, allowing users to set up dedicated network connections.
To make the move possible, Interxion teamed up with tech services and communications provider Level 3 – taking advantage of the company’s global network coverage.
Discussing the matter in a press release, Intexion cloud segment Director Vincent in‘t Veld said the Amazon service helped Interxion customers with building “hybrid cloud solutions between their dedicated IT infrastructures and the AWS platform more effectively by providing cost, security and performance control.”
“This supports the wider IT transformation process by allowing organisations to further maximise their IT efficiency. Thanks to the presence of leading network service providers such as Level 3, AWS Direct Connect can now be accessed by our customer community across our entire data centre footprint,” Veld continued.
Worldwide, Interxion’s data centers encompass locations such as France, Austria, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands.
Just last month, Amazon announced new availability for its cloud services platform via the launch of a cloud region in Sydney, Australia.
