(The Hosting News) – A year after launching UK operations and building on its recent global and UK growth, LogMeIn, Inc. (Nasdaq:LOGM) has opened a new London office to expand its presence in the market. During the past year, strong demand for remote access, support and collaboration services resulted in thousands of UK businesses and individuals adopting LogMeIn’s technology, including recently announced customers Jamie Oliver, Ltd. and BSkyB, as well as two of the UK’s top three mobile operators.
The UK ranks among the top countries in the world in tech spending and mobile adoption. In 2011, comScore reported that smartphone adoption in the UK — already one of the top two European markets in smartphone subscribers — is now outpacing the US, Japan, Germany, France, Spain and Italy in year-over-year growth.1 And Forrester Research recently reported that the UK ranks among the top five countries in the world in annual information and communications technology spending, following the US, China, Japan, and Germany, respectively.2
“The UK is among the fastest growing mobile and tech markets in the world, and we’re happy to be growing with it,” said Seth Shaw, LogMeIn’s vice president of sales and marketing, EMEA. “Our UK-based customers have embraced our entire products set, from our free access and collaboration offerings – LogMeIn Free and join.me – to our mobile offerings like Ignition, as well as our more business oriented IT support tool, LogMeIn Rescue. This new office in London will allow us to provide even better localised sales and support, as well as the direct customer interaction we value so much to help build the best products possible.”
The new office complements LogMeIn’s European operations in the Netherlands (Amsterdam) and Hungary (Budapest, Szeged), Asia Pacific operations in Australia (Sydney), and North American operations in the United States (Woburn, Massachusetts).
