(The Hosting News) – A new patch by Microsoft to fix a massive amount of vulnerabilities in Windows and many of its programs will be released on Tuesday of next week. Seventeen updates will be included in the patch, nine of which will be critical. A total of sixty-four issues will be addressed.
Known problems being fixed include a flaw in MHTML Protocol Handler and Windows Server Message Block. Other known issues deal with Internet Explorer and Office.
The size of the fix ties a December record for the largest amount of security issues addressed in one patch. Microsoft usually releases patches monthly.
