(The Hosting News) – Microsoft’s next wave of updates following Windows 8.1 is “Threshold,” a software that will bring all of Microsoft’s OS platforms together to share more common elements, reports ZDNEt.
Threshold’s updates will include the Xbox One, Windows, and Windows Phone, which will support the same “high-value activities” that include decision-making and task completion, expression and document that will possibly include Office, and IT management.
“Microsoft will enable these types of high-value activities with a family of devices — from both Microsoft and our partners — as well as with our services,” said departing CEO, Steve Ballmer.
The code name originated from the planet that the first halo ring orbited in the original Halo game.
Before Threshold’s expected release in spring 2015, Windows 8.1 Update 1 and Windows Phone “Blue” are scheduled to be released first, in spring 2014.
