(The Hosting News) – Microsoft has been hacked in another attack made by the Syrian Electronic Army, this time targeting its Office blog.
According to The Verge, just hours after Microsoft redesigned the Office blog, the SEA hacked into the site and changed several articles to headline the title “hacked by the Syrian Electronic Army.”
The hacking group posted a screenshot of the old administration panel for the Office blog along with their crest in the center, followed by another post stating, “Dear @Microsoft, Changing the CMS will not help you if your employees are hacked and they don’t know about that. #SEA.”
“A targeted cyberattack temporarily affected the Microsoft Office blog. The account was quickly reset and we can confirm that no customer information was compromised,” confirmed Microsoft in a statement to The Verge.
The attack on the Office’s blog is the most recent in a promise made by the SEA to continue its campaign against Microsoft.
The group previously used Twitter to warn the company of more attacks by writing, “We didn’t finish our attack on @Microsoft yet, stay tuned for more.”
Earlier this month, Microsoft confirmed that a “small number” of email accounts had been accessed by the SEA, which the company stated that no customer information had been compromised.
The official Xbox support Twitter account and Skype social media accounts were also attacked at the beginning of the month warning users to not use Microsoft email accounts due to spying by the company.
