The United States Telecom Association would like to see the net neutrality order from the FCC reversed. The case was heard in an appeals court last week and the FCC defended their position.
In February of 2015, the FCC reclassified internet services under Title II of the Communications Act. They reclassified these services as telecommunications, which means ISPs may be regulated in a similar was as telephone providers.
Telecom argued that the FCC doesn’t have the authority to reclassify mobile and fixed broadband as common carrier services.
