Atlanta dedicated web hosting and colocation company, Global Net Access, has closed on the purchase of a new building that will become the new Atlanta NAP.
The owners of Global Net Access established a new company,
Colo Facilities Atlanta, LLC to handle the building as it is more expansive than GNAX currently needs. The building is 75,000 sqare feet and has expansion property for another building of this size.
Effective immediately, Colo Facilities Atlanta, LLC is the new owner of 1100 White St. SW in Atlanta, Georgia. This new company will operate the building with the goal of operating the largest carrier neutral NAP in Atlanta. The goal is to also operate the NAP to world class standards while attaining the most cost effective position.
According to the company, the building will survive tornado strength winds. It is 5 miles from their current location and ideally situated on the way to the airport and on a major fiber ring owned by the local gas utility.
GNAX has signed a lease for 25,000 square feet of space in the NAP and will begin operations in the new building in January 2006. The remaining 50,000 square feet will be available for rent immediately for data center and colocation operations.
