A portion of the company’s data storage equipment will be stored at Data393’s $30 million facility in Englewood, Colorado.
Photobucket will use its own equipment, software, and personnel, while Data393 supplies Photobucket with a data storage facility including power, cooling, and access to a 10 GigE Internet pipeline.
Photobucket provides an environment for sharing and publishing visual digital content online. Images, graphic art, and videos can be directly linked from Photobucket to any site, including sites such as eBay, Gaiaonline, Piczo, Blogger, LiveJournal, Friendster, and Myspace.
According to the company, processing more than 50 billion image requests per month, around two percent of all U.S. Internet traffic, Photobucket’s rapid growth has led to increased demand for reliable connectivity and additional storage. A percentage of Photobucket’s Internet traffic is routed to Data393, and some of the images hosted by Photobucket are stored in its Englewood facility.
