intY chose to deploy the Unify Shared Edition as its management platform, because of its ability to work seamlessly with intY’s Microsoft Hosted Messaging and Collaboration (HMC) infrastructure and for its ease and speed of deployment.

The company initially decided to deploy Microsoft HMC version 4.0, but after weeks of internal deployment activity, the company realized it would be more effective to find a management solution that worked efficiently with the HMC 4.0 infrastructure. Specifically, intY was looking for a platform that could offer customer facing control panels, automate time-consuming tasks and support complex reseller structures.
Ensim Unify Shared Edition is a single, centralized software application that simplifies the day-to-day burden of activating, configuring and managing a service provider’s unified communications and collaboration infrastructure. Co-developed with Microsoft, Unify delivers a complete solution for the management and automation of hosted services under a shared infrastructure. The latest version, Unify Shared Edition 4.0, allows service providers to provision and manage Microsoft Exchange 2007 and SharePoint Services 3.0 in a wide range of deployment scenarios, including HMC 3.5, HMC 4.0 and homegrown infrastructure.
For the deployment, Ensim introduced its EMEA technology partner, Info Support. Thanks to Ensim Unify’s ease of use and Info Support’s domain expertise, Info Support had Unify installed and its entire HMC 4.0 platform rebuilt within two weeks. Using Unify’s Web Services API, intY’s development staff was also able to complete the integration of its OSS/BSS solution with Unify.
