San Antonio, Texas – (The Hosting News) – January 26, 2007 – Security solutions firm, SecureTrust Corporation, has been chosen by online retailer, French Soaps LTD, to enable it to become the first company to go live with the new Extended Validation (EV) SSL digital certificates from SecureTrust.
EV certificates include a feature that turns the address bar green in Internet Explorer 7 to inform users that a web site is secure and has a valid EV certificate. EV certificates are a new security feature added to Microsoft’s latest web browser. Other browser manufacturers have committed to implement the technology in future versions of their browsers. New EV certificates can be purchased from SecureTrust at a discounted rate of $599 for one year or $899 for two years.
Scott Harris, President of SecureTrust remarked, ”We’re proud that French Soaps has taken the initiative to become the first company to officially go live with our EV certificates. With the industry looking to build momentum and user acceptance of these certificates, it’s critical that companies who conduct business over the Internet support the new standard.”
Curtis Cord, President of French Soaps added, ”The new certificates include a pretty extensive validation process. We were determined to quickly begin the process in the best interest of our customers, and were happy to find out that we are actually the first company to go live with it. It’s a pleasant surprise. Our SecureTrust certificate assures customers they can shop with confidence. Add the great support and value, and it was a very easy decision to choose the SecureTrust solution.”
Since its inception in 2001, SecureTrust Corporation has provided security solutions for online merchants, universities, government entities, and any organization requiring secure communications. SecureTrust is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, and has received the AICPA/CICA WebTrust Seal of Assurance for Certification Authorities three years in a row.
