DENVER–(BUSINESS WIRE)–June 21, 2005–On June 30, Bacardi Global Brands,
Inc., the conglomerate of worldwide marketing for the world-famous Bacardi and
Company, LTD, will celebrate two years of confidence in their longest-lasting
Global Webmaster CM Tech, a Colorado computer consulting firm.
CM Tech owners Dave Conder and Matt Mathias will celebrate their corporate growth
from a local hosting company in 2003 to a worldwide support system for additional
Bacardi-owned brands including Martini, Bombay Sapphire, Dewars, Cazadores,
Eristoff and Grey Goose.
Most importantly, unlike other hosting companies in Bacardi Global’s history,
CM Tech isn’t going anywhere; rather, they are growing alongside Bacardi and
broadening its technological capabilities.
In 2002 Bacardi Global Brands began to transform Bacardi’s e-presence from
individual countries’ networks into one global Web hosting environment. As Bacardi
Global began to launch its global sites, a significant obstacle limited the
corporate vision: its weak information technology infrastructure was not designed
to support the functions Bacardi desired. The servers were unstable due to data
overload, site functionality was sporadic at best, and Bacardi Global project
managers spent an inordinate amount of time managing network administrative
tasks. Bacardi Global was spending high dollar for an infrastructure that was
not meeting its needs or fulfilling its goals.
Some of the international markets felt that the local hosting companies were
a better option than joining the Bacardi Global hosting environment.
CM Tech caught wind of the situation in May 2003 and approached Bacardi Global
with only one question: ”What would your hosting environment be like if
it were perfect?” In a thorough analysis of Bacardi Global’s hosting infrastructure,
CM Tech began to understand the goals of the project and pinpointed the most
effective technology for solving the problems and allowing the hosting environment
to exceed Bacardi Global’s expectations.

CM Tech identified specific problem areas in Bacardi Global’s hosting environment
and started to design a new hosting infrastructure from scratch. Within weeks
they were able to configure the new Bacardi Global environment that would allow
the high-performance, high-availability hosting for all of Bacardi Global’s
CM Tech also added systems that tracked information for different nationalities,
online contests, demographic site hits, and other sophisticated content management
tools for Bacardi Global’s legal department.
In addition to creating the behind-the-scenes environment, CM Tech helped Bacardi
Global create marketing tools to promote specialty drinks and increase brand
loyalty. CM Tech programmers worked directly with Bacardi’s Web designers to
create sites with music, interactive videos, and experimental music mixing for
aspiring disc jockeys.
Finally, Bacardi Global Brands was able to eliminate almost 50% of their hosting
costs and services. Unplanned site downtime went down to less than one hour
per year. Their new custom-designed hosting infrastructure also saved them thousands
of dollars in site repair costs.
