A great networking opportunity followed with the superb lunch provided by MIVA poolside at the venue – The San Diego Marriott Hotel and Marina in San Diego, California. The plentiful sunshine and vistas filled with sailing vessels and fishing trawlers set the backdrop for active discussions at each table centered around growing an online business, and the role that MIVA’s products and services fill in that equation. The opportunity to discuss firsthand the new developments and strategic direction for MIVA were a highlight of the lunch.
Educational sessions followed in the afternoon. Of particular note was an educational session centered on the hosting industry. Mr. Vic Vega, Managing Partner at WolfPaw Computers (MIVA hosting experts) delivered an informative talk entitled, ”10 Hosting Myths – What You Should Know Before Selecting a Host”. Topics included bandwidth, email boxes, space quotas, low cost hosting, and server configurations. Vic had this to say after the discussion, ”This is our fourth year here. The experience of being seen and seeing is worth the price of admission. It’s also an amazing experience. We were also relieved to have left Dallas – where it’s been over 100 degrees for forty days in a row – for this welcome change of weather!”. The keynotes were very good, and there were multiple compliments about the food. The conference is big enough to be big, and also small emough to be intimate.”
