Santa Cruz, California – (The Hosting News) – February 1, 2006 – A new web development community, Xeldo.com, is celebrating its grand opening. The site expects to attract additional web developers from around the world to participate.
Xeldo, which has been in planning and development for four months, was started by a California-based freelance web designer looking to create an environment where learning flourished.
John Landes, Xeldo.com founder explained, ”I’m a member of quite a few development communities, and overall, most were very intimidating at first to get involved with. I’m looking to change that – I want my site to have a great reputation.”
The forum is powered by vBulletin, and features a custom-designed skin and layout. Landes hopes to encourage participation by running a series of contests throughout the year.
Mr. Landes added, ”I have planned and secured prizes for several competitions that I really think will promote activity on the website. I really want to take a different angle on the contests; there’s going to be some unique things to come. Growing is definitely a priority at this point, so I’m looking into different strategies.”
The website features discussion the topics of web design, search engine optimization, website marketing, and domain names. A marketplace section to buy and sell domains is also available free of charge.
