Western Pennsylvania, United States – (The Hosting News) – November 4, 2005 – A new pixel advertising site focused on the web
hosting industry has been launched. Web Host
Pixels (www.webhostpixels.com), was conceived by John Leavitt, veteran
Internet entrepreneur and Lycos co-founder.
The site is intended to be different than
many of the current pixel advertising sites in several ways that directly benefit
Web Host Pixels only allows advertisements from web hosting services, so there is a narrow focus to the site. In addition, it is positioned as a sister site to Hosting Comparison, a popular web host review site. A permanent site-wide link from Hosting Comparison will provide a long-term stream of targetted traffic to Web Host Pixels.
Web Host Pixels will also permit advertisers to update their ads as often as they like, thereby avoiding a “time capsule effect.” This means that the advertisements can be just as relevant five years from now as they are today, rather than becoming anachronistic and irrelevant.
Each web host is given 400 free pixels upon sign up. This grant is good for one year without any additional purchase. If additional pixels are purchased, the advertiser gets to keep the 400 free pixels.
According to Dan Ushman, VP of Operations at midPhase, ”Web Host Pixels is a unique adoption of the pixel site phenomenon. I am very happy that a chance to participate in this unique and exclusive website. Judging from the exponential growth seen by similar websites in other categories, Web Host Pixels should quickly grow in both quantity and quality of traffic. It should be interesting to watch the project grow.”
Trey Gardner of Lunarpages added, ”WebHostingPixels.com is a great site for us, not only because of the opportunity to reach more customers but the site also allows us to see all of the hosting competitors in one location. We intend to have Lunarpages featured prominently on WebHostingPixels.com and we look forward to going head to head with all of our competitors who will be marketing on that site.”
