Fort Lauderdale, Florida – (The Hosting News) – October 28, 2005 – Private-label webhosting provider, Hostopia, has launched WebMail 4.0, a significant evolution from their three earlier WebMail interfaces: Classic, Professional, and Advanced.

Hostopia determined that users desire a webmail interface that was fast and intuitive – based on research conucted with its 350 member private-label partner network of service providers Features desired included an online calendar, task lists, advanced contact management, easy-to-set preferences, and configurable spam/virus protection. Hostopia built on the success of their earlier WebMail interfaces to pack WebMail 4.0 with new features and functions.

According to Bill Campbell, CEO of Hostopia, ”When 1.8 million users speak, you listen. Most Web-based email typically lacks the power features of a robust business-class offering, or they provide graphical richness at the expense of performance, since they operate without client software. Hostopia’s WebMail 4.0 delivers blistering speed, massive storage allocations and a slick interface jammed with useful user features.”

WebMail 4.0 provides advanced email folder management; intuitive calendaring and task management; improved contact management functionality (including group and list management); the ability to view quarantined (spam) mail; and multi-language support and spell checker – all powered by a new mail architecture that greatly enhances overall performance, speed, and reliability. Users can also set-up and manage autoresponders and email forwarding settings, change their passwords, and edit their filtering and mail set-up preferences from within WebMail 4.0, functions that were previously available through a separate Hostopia application.

Hostopia is offering Webmail 4.0 as a standard, included feature bundled with its private-label wholesale hosting plans, sold by service providers under their own brands, worldwide. Webmail 4.0 is also included in each of Hostopia’s three private-label, managed email offerings: Business Class Email, SOHO, and ISP (non-domain based) email.

Cinergy Communications Inc. is a Hostopia private-label partner. CTO Pat Heck commented, ”As the Internet browser continues to displace traditional enterprise desktop applications, the demand for a high-end Webmail offering has risen dramatically. Webmail 4.0 gives our residential and business customers powerful features and performance expected by a typical Microsoft Outlook user, with the added benefits of online-anywhere operation and spam and virus protection.”
