Denver, Colorado - (The Hosting News) - June 21, 2007 - High-speed Internet, data, video and voice services firm, Qwest Communications International Inc.'s Executive Vice President, Dan Yost, presented a keynote address at the International Engineering Consortium (IEC) Communications Forums, sponsored by the NXTcomm 2007 event in Chicago.

The IEC presented its communications forums offering comprehensive educational programs at NXTcomm at Chicago's McCormick Place, featuring service providers such as AT and T, BT Group, and Verizon.
John Janowiak, President of IEC remarked, ''As always, we expect great opportunities for industry professionals to network, exchange information, generate business and learn from one another.''

The IEC Communications Forums presented at NXTcomm offered an educational program covering the changing communications environment. Focusing on IP infrastructure, the one-day program will present many applications, including wireless and wireline for service providers and enterprise users.

Mr. Janowiak continued, ''Keynoter Mr. Dan Yost owns 30 years of telecommunications experience. Attendees will definitely gain from his insight and expert understanding of the field.''

Other firms led discussions on issues surrounding network transformations, services and content evolution and managing the business. Mr. Yost is responsible for the product development and management of Qwest's voice, data, and IP portfolio, including the development of new services and the deployment of VoIP. With more than 30 years of telecommunications experience, he joined Qwest from Allegiance Telecom, Inc., a facilities-based national local-exchange carrier, where he served as the company's president and chief operating officer. While at Allegiance, Mr. Yost managed the company's day-to-day operations, which included the delivery of local and long-distance communications, international calling, high-speed data transmission, and Internet services.

Qwest CyberCenters were developed for businesses seeking hosting solutions to manage and protect all critical data and systems. Businesses are hoped to maximize efficiencies and realize significant cost savings, by outsourcing hosting and application services. Qwest CyberCenters provide expert support for customers to conduct e-commerce, operate complex web sites, and manage entire IT environments including enterprise applications, databases and data storage.

Cooling towers, water pumps and chillers provide enough cooling capacity to air-condition the equivalent of approximately 1,820 private homes. With 19.5 mega-watts of emergency power to ensure network operations, Qwest CyberCenters generate enough power for approximately 5,000 households.

The 14 Qwest CyberCenters are located in 11 metropolitan areas, including Burbank, Calif.; Chicago; Columbus, Ohio; Denver; Minneapolis; Newark, N.J.; Sacramento, Calif.; Seattle; Sterling, Va.; Sunnyvale, Calif.; and Tampa, Fla. Qwest was voted ''Hosting Center of the Year'' in an InfoWorld reader's choice survey and was also ranked number one for providing application services in a recent America's Network end-user survey.
