Palm Desert, California – (via THE HOSTING NEWS) – September 2, 2005 – Spare Backup Inc. has announced an
agreement with Global Marketing Partners that will allow distribution through
Ingram Micro. As the world’s largest technology distributor and a leading
technology sales, marketing, and logistics company, Ingram Micro will further
assist Spare Backup in bringing its innovative electronic asset backup solutions
to market in a variety of different retail locations.
Spare Backup provides a fast and efficient way for consumers to select and secure computer files for backup without the need to tediously sort them by hand. The company provides users with a secure server on which to store backups of their personal and professional computer files. In addition to saving the data found in different files, Spare Backup preserves the hidden settings and formatting information found within files to ensure that the users’ backup files exactly match the originals. Spare Backup also provides its Spare Switch software, which allows users to quickly transfer files between PCs via a high-speed Internet connection.
Cery Perle, CEO of Newport International and Spare Backup Inc. commented on the new partnership, “Our relationship with Ingram Micro will provide Spare Backup with unprecedented access to the consumer market, allowing for further expansion and a dramatic increase in sales. While our software has already developed a loyal following, our agreement with Ingram Micro allows Spare Backup to access Ingram’s established network of over 165,000 resellers, tremendously developing our retail distribution channels.”
Previously, Spare Backup software was available exclusively online through the company’s website. But beginning in September 2005, Spare Backup software will be readily available in CompUSA retail locations throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, and other larger retailers soon. The company’s agreement with Global Marketing Partners will allow Spare Backup to offer software in Best Buy, Circuit City, Office Depot, Staples, and a number of other large retail locations.
