New York, New York – (The Hosting News) – October 27, 2006 –
Managed services, application hosting and IT infrastructure outsourcing company, VeriCenter, Inc., has added 40,000 square feet to its data center, within its facilities in four major markets across the United States.
VeriCenter operates a nationwide network of data center facilities in six major U.S. cities. With over 450,000 gross square feet of data center facilities, VeriCenter has the potential to build out over 250,000 square feet of conditioned revenue-producing raised floor space. The recently completed expansion projects — in VeriCenter’s Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, and Denver data center facilities, bring VeriCenter’s current level of production raised floor space to 145,000 square feet. At this time, VeriCenter fully utilizes only 20% of the potential capacity of its data center facilities.
Gray Hall, CEO and President of VeriCenter remarked, ”VeriCenter has grown revenues for 25 consecutive quarters at an annual growth rate of 135%, and we plan to continue increasing our market share in the managed services, application hosting and IT infrastructure outsourcing markets. The quality of our data center facilities is outstanding. Our additional capacity provides us with a competitive advantage and gives us the ability to scale quickly to meet market requirements on demand.”
Daniel Golding, Vice President and Senior Analyst for Tier 1 Research added, ”The demand for high quality data center space has never been stronger due to enterprise regulatory and business continuity requirements, not to mention the explosive growth in Internet traffic. We are seeing demand outpace supply by a factor of 4 in the near and mid term. Overall data center supply has been increasing very slowly — only 2.3% in the last year, while demand has increased 9.2%. VeriCenter is clearly meeting a strong market demand with their continued expansion drive.”
Business customers considering managed services, application hosting and IT infrastructure outsourcing typically look for a service provider that has the capacity to serve them now and in the future. Much of today’s demand for data center capacity includes the need to operate dense server and storage environments with heavy power and cooling requirements. Running dense computing environments in legacy data centers is difficult due to the power and cooling design of older facilities. As a result, data center outsourcing has become an increasingly popular trend for enterprise IT departments seeking to offload management of IT infrastructure and leverage the economies of scale provided by service providers such as VeriCenter.
Mr. Hall continued,
”We’re seeing more and more businesses seeking help in hosting web and business applications as they reach the limit of their internally available space and power. VeriCenter is fortunate to have world-class data center space available nationwide, as well as the ability to provide managed services to these customers.”
Each VeriCenter data center facility is SAS 70 Type II compliant, rides a Tier 1 backbone with diverse path connectivity, and is backed by fully redundant power and environmental systems. VeriCenter customers can select from a comprehensive range of managed services including management of servers, storage, backups, network, databases and security.
