Notification services help customers protect domain names they own and acquire domain names they want.
San Diego, California – November 04, 2004 Aplus.Net (www.aplus.net), a leading web site hosting and development firm for small and medium-sized businesses (SMB), announced today the launch of two new services that help businesses and individuals protect their online property and business branding efforts.
Aplus.Net’s Domain Monitor service watches activity on domain names that are already registered. The service monitors the domain name’s registry record, and if any changes are made to domain name server, registrar, status or expiration of the entry being monitored, an email is sent to the customer. Domain Monitor protects not only from malicious actions, but also from technical and clerical errors which happen often in the Industry, and may lead to significant loss if they go unnoticed.
Aplus.Net’s Domain Guard service helps businesses guard their website branding by monitoring the new domain name registrations for specific keywords that the customer selects. If a new domain name is registered that contains the monitored keywords, an e-mail is sent to the customer. For example, if an individual chose to “guard” names similar to "Aplus.Net", the Domain Guard service would notify that person if someone registered "apluswebhosting.com".
Customers can choose to “guard†or “monitor†any domain, regardless of whether they own the domain or not. Each service is available immediately at a rate of $4.95 per year.
"Domain names are a major part of the Intellectual Property portfolio for many of our customers," said Ivan Vachovsky, Chief Executive Officer of Aplus.Net. "They require adequate protection, which Aplus.Net delivers with Domain Guard and Domain Monitor services."
