News: Web Hosting Integrator, Internap, Collaborates with Pando, for P2P Development
News
New York, New York - (The Hosting News) - November 8, 2007 - Internet performance network services company, Internap Network Services Corporation, has chosen Pando Networks, as a P2P co-development partner, to offer content owners the ability to reliably, securely and cost efficiently deliver large media files.

As part of this relationship, the companies are launching a new P2P access method for Internap's CDN platform, which is planned to be available by the end of 2007. This new service leverages the Pando Video Booster, a highly efficient, thin client for streaming full-screen, HD (high definition) video. Internap's CDN with P2P access can be an efficient and cost-effective delivery option for long-form video and large-volume files and is easily combined with Internap's delivery solutions for Adobe Flash(TM) video and Windows Media files.

Robert Levitan, CEO of Pando Networks remarked, ''We are thrilled that Internap has chosen Pando Networks as its P2P co-development partner. The integration of P2P technology with CDNs is fundamental for efficient and cost effective online media delivery. We are proud to be developing that future with the CDN leader, Internap.''

With more than 14 million users worldwide, Pando's managed P2P network delivers more data daily than any P2P network of its kind. The Pando P2P architecture easily integrates into other applications and web services and is available for Windows, Mac and Linux.

The seamless integration of the Pando Video Booster with Internap's proven CDN provides digital media owners and enterprise applications a secure and reliable CDN solution with multiple access methods as well as Internap's MediaConsole toolset for managing, packaging and reporting on streaming content

Philip N. Kaplan, Chief Strategy Officer at Internap and Co-founder of VitalStream added, ''Until now, P2P networking was an interesting technology that could not meet the requirements of enterprise applications and digital media owners. Internap's proven CDN platform, streaming services, and content monetization tools are complemented by Pando's innovative P2P client to deliver an integrated, secure, and reliable solution for distributing and consuming media assets.''
