Level 3 Communications, Inc., a communications and information services provider, recently announced that it has signed a multi-year agreement to provide additional nationwide network services for Adelphia Communications Corporation, a cable television company.
Under the agreement, Adelphia will use multiple wavelength circuits to transport data and voice traffic to and from major cities throughout the United States. The Level 3ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s (3)Link Intercity Wavelength service offering is an optical, point-to-point, unprotected service at 2.5 Gbps or 10 Gbps. This service is available in 71 markets in the United States and in Europe.
Randy Dunbar, senior vice president of Transport Services for Level 3 said, ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…â€œWe look forward to providing Adelphia with a scalable wavelength-based backbone that gives the cable operator the flexibility, control and cost efficiencies that the company requires.
