The official Drupal ‘unconference’ attracts the most talented open source developers and innovative web shops in the world and brings them together to share knowledge and make decisions on the future of Drupal.
Mr. Mandel led a panel of industry experts on an in-depth discussion of ”Drupal Hosting Options.” The panel reviewed the crowded and convoluted world of Drupal hosting, address the pros and cons of current hosting options for Drupal – from shared to cloud to virtual to dedicated hosting – as well as discussing what options will be available in the future.
In addition to the panel, Mr. Mandel discussed ”Optimizing the LAMP Stack for Drupal” in a standalone presentation at DrupalCon. Mr. Mandel discussed Drupal code changes as well as addressing optimizations throughout the LAMP stack. The focus was on the configuration of Drupal, PHP, the database and the web server. Attendees learned new ways to optimize and scale their Drupal server by optimizing the entire LAMP stack, to be able to better locate bottle necks and identify resolutions.
