The new office in Tokyo will accommodate the Phase Forward team, the majority of whom are directly involved in product technology support, service and project management.
According to the company,
this will continue to ensure that clients of Phase Forward’s electronic data capture (EDC), clinical data management (CDM) and drug safety / pharmacovigilance solutions will be supported locally from Japan, in local language. The new office will be managed by Katsuhiko Niga, recently promoted to the position of Regional Director, who has developed key industry relationships during his six years at Phase Forward working in the areas of business development and marketing. Niga has over 15 years experience working in increasingly senior roles at Nippon Boehringer Ingelheim K.K., Nippon Wellcome K.K. and Glaxo Wellcome K.K. Andy Brock from Phase Forward’s U.K. office will assist Katsuhiko Niga in the further development of all areas of the Japanese business including service delivery, commercial operations and local product management. He will also have responsibility for further developing the company’s valued partnerships in Japan. Brock has established strong links with the Japanese operations having worked with them for more than three years in support of several of Phase Forward’s Japanese and global clients.

The team will also focus on the safety market to meet the growing demand for Phase Forward’s Lincoln Technologies signal detection and pharmacovigilance solutions. In addition, the team will support Phase Forward’s Clintrace(TM) adverse event reporting system customers within the region.
