(The Hosting News) – Nexcess, a leading provider of high-performance Magento hosting and a Magento Platinum Hosting partner, has announced the addition of Redis support to all of its performance-optimized Magento hosting plans. By giving eCommerce hosting clients the option to use Redis, Nexcess advances its commitment to providing an unbeatably fast and stable Magento hosting platform.
Redis, which joins Memcached as an option for Magento hosting clients, is a powerful open source in-memory key-value data store that allows for efficient caching of data from Magento. Redis is positioned in front of Magento, caching the result of requests to the eCommerce application and returning responses to subsequent requests more quickly than would be possible otherwise. By holding the cache in RAM, Redis can significantly enhance front and back-end performance for eCommerce stores, resulting in a better experience for shoppers and leading to lower cart abandonment rates, decreased bounce rates, and increased revenue.
“For eCommerce hosting clients, there is a direct correlation between site performance and revenue,” commented Chris Wells, President and CEO of Nexcess. “Over the last few years, we’ve put considerable time and effort into building an eCommerce hosting platform that provides unbeatable performance and stability. Adding Redis as an option for Magento hosting clients is part of our ongoing commitment to give them the tools they need to offer the ideal eCommerce experience to their customers.”
Redis provides multiple performance enhancing features that make it a particularly good choice for deployment alongside Magento. Unlike Memcached, Redis supports on-disk saves and master/slave replication, which removes the single point of failure. Additionally, Redis is capable of PHP session storage and can support multiple backend databases, making it an excellent choice for clustered Magento hosting.
Redis will be available to Magento users hosted on Nexcess’s Secure Isolated Platform servers on the SIP–200 tier and above, which includes shared hosting, dedicated server hosting, and enterprise cluster hosting. Nexcess provides Magento hosting from many locations around the globe, including multiple points of presence in the US, in Surrey, UK for low-latency access to European markets, and in Brisbane, Australia, which has high-speed connections to Australia, New Zealand, and the Asia-Pacific region.
