(The Hosting News) – One in three countries now has a cloud provider powered by OnApp, the company announced today at the WHD.global exhibition in Europa Park, Germany. Since OnApp launched in July 2010, it has grown to almost 600 customers in 68 countries, and deployed more than 2,000 clouds for service providers around the world, including PEER1 Hosting, TDC, GMO, KPN, UK2 Group and Crucial Paradigm, making it the most widely used public cloud platform on the market today.
Also at WHD.global, OnApp announced Cloud Leaders, a new program to encourage best practice and promote growth in the public cloud market. Cloud Leaders draws on research, experience and advice from Cloud Spectator and other analysts, as well as leading cloud providers such as eApps, Sliced Tech, Shift to the Cloud and Ubiquity. A growing library of free content will provide advice and ideas to help service providers succeed in the cloud market, at http://cloudleaders.net.
“Everything we do is designed for service providers, and it’s pretty rewarding to see that reflected in the growing ecosystem of clouds built on OnApp,” said OnApp CEO Ditlev Bredahl. “We’re privileged to work with the world’s best cloud providers, a community of hosters, telcos and MSPs that’s become a force to be reckoned with.
“We’ve always been about helping our clients grow, and Cloud Leaders comes from this kind of angle too,” he continued. “There is still plenty of opportunity in the cloud market, but there is more competition and your competitors are more savvy. Cloud Leaders is a free resource for service providers, a great way for the industry to share knowledge, and promote real examples of innovation in cloud service delivery.”
During WHD.global, Ditlev will reveal the success secrets of some of the fastest-growing cloud providers in a keynote session called “Gold rush? What gold rush?” at 10:10 a.m. CET on Tuesday, March 19. OnApp’s Storage and Virtualization Architect, Julian Chesterfield will present a separate session on OnApp’s new distributed SAN, OnApp Storage, at 5:50 p.m. CET on Wednesday, March 20.
The OnApp team will be available at stand #C13 for hourly demos of OnApp Cloud v3.0, which now includes VMware support; OnApp CDN, which now spans 160 locations in 40 countries; and OnApp Storage, OnApp’s patent-pending storage system for cloud providers.
OnApp software powers cloud, CDN and storage services for companies all over the world. OnApp products include OnApp Cloud, a complete cloud management platform for service providers and enterprises; OnApp CDN, a unique federated CDN platform for service providers; and OnApp Storage, a low-cost, high performance distributed SAN for cloud environments. OnApp launched in July 2010, has more than 120 staff across the EU, US and Asia-Pacific, and can be found online at http://www.onapp.com.
